How to use theharvester tool on Linux

Today we are going to look at how to use the Theharvester tool in this Linux tutorial section. This tool is pre-installed on Linux and if you do not have this tool on your device you can install it using the command given below. You can also use this tool through termux.

									sudo apt install theharvester				

If you want to run this Theharvester tool on your Linux you need to type the command sudo Theharvester in the terminal and run it. And there is another way in Linux by clicking on the Linux logo in the top left side corner and information gathering > OSINT TOOlS > Theharvester

What is Theharvester?

TheHarvester is a command-line device blanketed in Kali Linux that acts as a wrapper for lots of engines like google and is used to locate e mail accounts, subdomain names, digital hosts, open ports/banners, and worker names associated with a site from exclusive public sources (inclusive of engines like google and PGP key servers). 

In latest versions, the authors introduced the functionality of doing DNS brute force, opposite IP decision and Top-Level Domain (TLD) expansion.

Use The theharvester tool

If you need to get information through a specific search engine in this tool, you can execute the following command in your terminal.

d – Domain Name

l – Limit the number of search results, default=500

b – Source

									theharvester -d errorsfind.com -l 500 -b google

Now if you want all the information in one command, you can run the following command in your terminal and get it.

									theHarvester -b all -d zonetransfer.me
